today is day 3 of P90X. i started on monday, june 6, and i'm going to do it until august 3. day 1 was chest and back, followed by ab ripper x. i wasn't entirely prepared, and later that day i was shaking when i tried to lift things at work. but the worst was when i woke up the next morning (i couldnt sit up, i had to roll out of bed) and then i had to get to it with plyometrics. and man did i sweat. plyometrics is all sorts of variations of jumping and twisting and squatting. it's legs and legs and legs. it hurt!! and today, day 3, was shoulders and arms, followed by ab ripper x again. ab ripper x was 10x harder the second time around, but it feels good to stretch and work out painful muscles. the last time i seriously worked out was during field hockey season, in 2006. so clearly i am overdue for some of this.

this is tony. he's kind of CRAZY.

i worked at new orleans wine and food experience this past month, it was amazing. there were about 40 different tables of just wines, not to mention there was a 'lounge' where there were different fruit cocktails. and then the food! there was a lot of the seafood/shrimp gumbo-ey thing, but the best one was from luke's. i totally forget all the names of the places i sampled from, but the gold medal winner had a really delicious dessert. i remember loving their food, but i dont remember what it was. and this was all completely free, by the way. thanks to bee sweet cupcakes, i worked there for like 45 minutes and then got to roam around with my coworker megan and eat and drink for free. did you know that there are such things as bottled mimosas and bellini?
it was really tasty.

my goals for this summer include: losing weight, exploring new orleans, finishing three competitions, winning three competitions and getting the $5k award money, coming up with a kickass thesis idea, getting a job working on a film doing set design. i have an interview tomorrow for the set design gig... fingers crossed!

oh, and, finishing/updating my portfolio. (kind of the most important, because i want to have my portfolio completely done before the end of the summer so i can prepare to send it out during november, in preparation for the following summer when i need to get a serious job.)

so it's finally summer. my last final is tomorrow. this morning. in 5 hours. clearly, i have my priorities in order... right, new blog?

i decided today that i'm cutting all bread out of my life. FOREVER. or at least for 15 days. this past finals run has been rough on my eating habits, not to mention that i just got back from rome, where all i ate was veggies.

plus, i got a job in a cupcake store on magazine st. everyone warned me not to eat the cupcakes, but really, could YOU resist these cuties?
this is called CB3. something about chris paul, the number 3, and the letter b. i dont get it.
plus, i moved into a new home, which resulted in my needing 2+ jobs to pay the bills. so now i have a daily servings of cupcakery and social media marketing, a dash of graphic design with babysitting on the side. and that's just to break even.

to sum up my life of the past few months:

cupcakes + finals + new house stress + lots of jobs = no money + bad eating habits

as long as that food isn't bread

so... what am i doing now?

step 1 - removing bread from my life.  that means no cookies, cakes, bread, crackers, crumbs.

stay away, grains of satan!

well....i suppose i should get back to this final prep.
